From Sega Dreamcast comes the third instalment in the Virtua Fighter series. Released in Japan in 1998 and Europe in 1999, the guys at Sega really stepped up this single and multi-player fighting extravaganza.

With the introduction of two new characters, the first being Aoi Umenokoji, a beautiful Japanese woman who's fighting style of quick and nimble jujitsu makes her a fast and light fighter who can leave your head spinning - or take it off before the opponents landed a punch! The second is Taka-Arashi, a giant sumo wrestler, with a bone crushing grapple and grip of steel, not to mention heavy duty, cast iron punches.

Taka would not feature again until the 5th Virtua Fighter after this. Game play was rather innovative in this Virtua Fighter, with new fighting sets that include a sloping roof, a staircase within the Great Wall and a raft made up of floating bobbly elements on the water. Graphics at the time were referred to as revolutionary and this was the first game in the series to introduce the 'dodge' feature, as previous versions only included kick, punch and guard. This classic Sega Dreamcast offering is one that must be experienced, it has retro written all over it and most of all it kicks ass!
