Our Thoughts

The first Tony Hawks title for the Playstation 2, Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 proves that NeverSoft were never a developer to rest on their laurels, even when they had a good thing going. For starters, this was one of the earliest titles on the PS2 to include Network capabilities- predating even Sony’s own PS2 Network Adapter- for online play. Another major addition to the series was the introduction of the Revert, a trick that allowed players to perform longer trick combos then in any game prior. There are also a number of hidden combos, variations on standard trick strings that provide more play variety. This made the game the most in depth and technical entry in the series at the time, and it still makes for a highly playable title now- in fact, it’s such a good title that it maintains status as one of the two highest rated PS2 titles of all time on Metacritic, an accolade it shares with Grand Theft Auto III. We can’t think of a more telling indicator of game’s quality then that!

So, if you’re looking to do a few sick kickflips and jam to the sweet sweet sounds of AFI and Zebrahead, then this game is an absolute must-buy!
