    Our Thoughts

There is definitely something to be said of a lot of game franchises developed in the earlier days of the medium; namely, the fact that any old bizarre idea can be flung at a board by a group of developers, and a finished product that’s as highly playable as it is absolutely bonkers will come out not long after. Worms is perhaps one of the most triumphant examples of this, blending strategic team based combat and a variety of War tropes and themes with... er, very violent, anthropomorphic worms that have just the cutest little high pitch war cries.

As with any popular entity, a sequel was inevitable, and barely two years after the original, Worms 2 burst onto the scene with plenty of aplomb- the graphics were an immediate step above the original, featuring a cartoonier and wackier in-game art style that rehauled the look of the Worms (plus some slick-for-the-time Cel Shaded FMV sequences loaded with Looney Tunes-esque antics) and core gameplay that was practically identical to that of the original, only massively expanded upon; you ccan now tailor sessions to your every whim, from the number of worms in your team to even a basic level editor, and an entire array of new weapons were added to your available roster, each one madder then the last- seriously, one of them is an old lady that explodes- and all of which are broken up into various selectable weapon schemes.
