Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition for PlayStation 4
Street Fighter V has been beset by criticism and controversy during it's nearly two-year lifespan for a multitude of reasons, with perhaps the most pertinent being the game's slow doling out of features, from characters to modes. Indeed, the game was incredibly barebones on it's initial release, and Capcom caught a considerable amount of flack for that.
If you've been holding off on picking the game up- and perhaps wisely so- now might be the best time to jump in. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition may seem like a glorified season three upgrade, to paraphrase Push Square's review of the game, but essentially, this is what the game ought've been when it first released; a respectable roster of characters to choose from, a variety of modes to play, a greater sense of balance between the characters, and additional options that make purchasing additional content like alternate outfits and colour schemes a less tiresome experience. Some of the most praised additions to the base experience that Arcade Edition offers include a Team Battle mode, the option for a second V-Trigger to use in battles, and viewable frame data in the game's Training Mode for those looking to dive deeper into the world of competitive fighting game play.
