Space Invaders [Focus Essential] for Windows PC
Space Invaders; there isn’t a person alive who isn’t at the very least vaguely aware Taito’s classic alien blasting romp from 1978, with it’s bare bones gameplay, simple but charming alien design, and classic descending sound effects. Well, this isn’t your pappy’s Space Invaders, son; this is Activision’s pumped-up rework of the game, where absolutely everything has been given a swift kick in the rear for maximum raditude. The core gameplay has been updated to facilitate a wide array of weapons for your ship to use, a far cry from the limited pellet shots of the original; you now travel between the various planets of our solar system, each lovingly rendered with differently styled terrain; there’s even a storyline tying the various battles together, explaining the circumstances behind the variety of aliens and bosses you lay waste to. In addition, there’s a two-player competitive multiplayer mode that pits you against a friend to prove who’s the best at eradicating xenomorph scum, and a whole heap of additional bonuses and features to be unlocked and discovered as you play.
