Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed for PlayStation 3
Sega hasn't had the smoothest history- lots of bumps in the road, bad business decisions, and a whole heap of poor dumb luck eventually took them out of the console market altogether, as many fans are quick to bemoan. However, said history is rich with innovative games full of beloved characters, of both cult status and slightly higher regard, and this racing title developed by Sumo Digital pays homage to a significant portion of it. Die hard Sega heads will baulk at the lovingly crafted race tracks packed full of easter eggs, and fairly robust roster featuring familiar faces and some of the deeper cuts from Sega's casting department. To say that's all the game is would be underselling it, though; backing all the fanservice is a solid Kart Racer affair that, though with a slightly higher learning curve (pun only sort of intended), more then holds it's own against genre trailblazer Mario Kart. This is an absolute must have for both the casual player and the "Dreamcast 2 when?" crowd alike!
