Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed [Limited Edition] for PlayStation Vita
For years, very few pretenders rose to the challenge of knocking Mario Kart off of it's pedestal as the only Kart Racer in town- arguably, the only one to ever make much of a dent at all was Crash Team Racing. That changed big time when Sumo Digital, in partnership with Sega, released the original Sonic & Sega All-Stars racing. Though perhaps a bit thin on the ground in some places, the base gameplay was solid and the attempts at Sega-related fanservice were greatly appreciated, so it generally received positive reviews and reception. Not a company to rest on their laurels, Sumo Digital upped the ante considerably with Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed. Every level was expertly designed for pure challenge and packed with references and easter eggs to all sort of Sega lore, and the gameplay was both diversified with the addition of transformable vehicles and further tightened up to create a game that, though a little difficult at times, is far more then "merely a Mario Kart clone". If you're looking for a Kart Racing fix that's a little lighter on the Mushroom content- this is your game!
