Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut for GameCube
Sonic Adventure was a dramatic shake up to the speedy blue mammal's by-then well established formula; gone were the shorter, cutesy character designs in favour of more trendy and edgy ones, each of the playable characters had a vastly different play style and level structure (some of which abandoned platforming entirely!), the action was broken up by expansive "Adventure Fields" that tied the levels together between several core locations, and the story of the game was given a much heavier emphasis then it ever had before. For better or for worse, it ushered in a new era of Sonic that, though ever changing in subtle and sometimes major ways, continues to this day. This updated version of the game aimed to fix bugs found within the original, contains several unlockable extras (including some of Sonic's Game Gear outings), and features redone character models that are far more detailed and better animated then those from the vanilla release.
