Mafia III for PlayStation 4
In a time when both the Games as Art conversation and "keep your Politics out of my games!" conversation are ongoing discussions in the gaming sphere, Hangar 13 and Take 2's Mafia III seems like a particularly bold move; it's an action adventure title set in 1968, starring a mix-raced Black Man returning from the Vietnam War. To say that the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War are both incredibly tender subjects is a massive understatement, so we commend both the developer and the publishers for taking the risk. The prior mentioned protagonist is Lincoln Clay, a soldier who immerses himself deep in the seedy underbelly of New Bordeaux for the sole purpose of enacting cold, cruel vengeance on the warring Mob factions that wronged him and his family.
