Sonic Unleashed for PlayStation 3

One of the more unusual and experimental entries within the Sonic franchise, Sonic Unleashed redefined the speedy modern Sonic gameplay, with a precedent that would stick with the series for some time (speedy, mostly linear platforming viewed from behind Sonic's back, with the odd extra fast segment here and there) and fused it with segments where you control the Werehog, Sonic's feral, bestial alternate form, born as a result of Eggman's latest nefarious scheme. Alone the usual Sonic Team flair- fantastic bright, cartoony visuals, a breathtaking and varied soundtrack, and cheesy but charming dialogue and characterization- the split gameplay and slight change in direction has given Sonic Unleashed something of a cult standing among fans, and comes highly recommended.
