Alone in the Dark: Inferno for PlayStation 3
The Alone in the Dark pedigree is a little know, but highly important one in the greater gaming lexicon; though Resident Evil may have codified and popularised the Survival Horror genre, it was arguably Alone in the Dark that served as the Ur Example. The series sat dormant for around a decade following the end of the PS1 era, until the name was revived for the Xbox 360 in 2008. The player finds themselves stepping into the role of Edward Carnby once again, as the intrepid paranormal detective finds himself battling a world-ending demonic threat in present day New York City.
This is the updated Inferno re-release of the title, which addressed a number of gameplay problems from the original release. These include tighter driving controls, a more zoomed out Third Person camera, the addition of full 360° camera controls, and a number of other touch ups and tweaks.
